MARS are proudly partnering with an established and global manufacturing organisation that are looking to hire an experienced Accounts Payable Officer on a permanent basis. This is an excellent hands-on opportunity for someone with a great eye for detail. They are based in Sydney CBD close to public transport links and offer flexible hybrid arrangements of 2 days in the office and 3 days from home.

The Responsibilities

Processing invoices, payments, purchase orders and expenditures,
Setting up new vendors
Performing bank reconciliations
Verifying expense reports
Paying vendors by electronic transfer and ensure payment is received for outstanding credit
Respond to all vendor queries with professionalism
Assist with monthly analysis and reporting
Continuous improvement to the payment processes
Adhoc support to senior accountant and finance manager

The Requirements:

Minimum 4 years' experience in an end-to-end Accounts Payable role
Minimum Cert 3 qualification in Accounting or Business
Very high levels of attention to detail
Ability to work autonomously
Experience using SAP is desirable but not essential
Strong Excel skills
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

To Note:

Hybrid role, 2 days in the office per week and 3 days from home
Hours are 9am - 5pm with a 30-minute lunch break

As the Finance and Administration Officer your key accountabilities will be:

  • Providing timely, accurate and efficient transaction processing and data entry related to the accounts payable and accounts receivable function of the School.
  • Being responsible for the day-to-day processing of all aspects of the payroll function.
  • Prepaing data and reports to support the School meeting its regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Supporting the development of policies, procedures and processes.
  • Contributing to the effective and efficient administration of the school by providing general administrative support duties to staff.
  • Having strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality of information.

To be considered for the role you should have:

  • A minimum of Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or Diploma in Accounting.
  • Demonstrated experience in a finance/bookkeeping role.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of computer software systems specifically Excel and Office 365 programs.
  • Possess or be eligible to gain a Working with Children Check (Blue Card) is essential.
  • Have the right to live and work in Australia.
  • Previous experience in working in a school is highly desirable, but not essential.
